Water Crisis
This crisis is in most of Africa. Especially, in Ghana. In Ghana has the water crisis that is occurring right now. Safe water is hard to find in the rural areas such as the Volta region, the Upper East region, and the capital Accra. Which is mostly effected by this crisis. The causes of this crisis are the remote and poor areas, the pipes are broken, the lack of training and maintaining of wells, lack of clean and safe water, and the lack of access to improved sanitation. The water crisis is threatening Ghana's economy growth. The economy is not very good.
This crisis is effecting Ghana in many ways. Such as, population and health. Less than half of the population can not access safe and clean water. This effects mostly in the health category. Such as, water borne diseases that lead to diarrhea which is the third most illness in the country, and 25% death in children under the age of five, and only 13% have access to improve sanitation. When it's the dry season the crisis gets worse. Most of water has discoloration and has dangerous materials in it.
Their are many organizations that helping to find a solution to this crisis. Many of the organizations are working together. Such as, Water.org, Drop in the bucket, Safe water network, and Wateraid. This crisis is not just in Ghana it is around the world and most in Africa. So we need to do our part and help the world with this crisis.
